Yes, that can happen. It's just one of the risks associated with the E3 visa. I wouldn't doubt though that at sometime after the first renewal Spirit, Frontier et Al start offering EB3 green cards, in much the same way CommutAir (and Atlas I believe) do.

Hard to out guess management but I wonder if once they've spent money training a guy they'd be reluctant to cut him loose. I guess if the immigration status process is cheaper than training an E3's replacement....?
I wonder if someone on LinkedIn could find the details of Spirit's offer as mentioned in the picture posted above in post #1962.
