I wouldn't suggest that Wizz are licking these lips regarding Gatwick with slots now becoming increasingly difficult to obtain with easy having nearly 80 based aircraft and BA Euroflyer up and running. The airport wants more long haul to expand the destinations available. Nouvelair have announced there are returning this summer.
Also Wizz are not particularly well known in Kent, Surrey and Sussex apart from the East Europeans. I have seen very little advertising also but I wish them all the best to get a slice of the action.
Wizz seems to have a ‘build it and they will come’ mentality. Big marketing stunts (apart from announcing loads of services and then cancelling them shortly afterwards), are not their sort of thing - you just have to see what JetBlue are doing, getting their name everywhere at the moment and and thats only on a couple of flights!
