This, pretty much. If you have the funds and inclination, you could simply book yourself into one of the Part 142 training providers like Pan Am in Miami or United at their training center in Denver and do a type ride and ATPL in one go. You would also only have to take the ATP written exam as there is no conversion process from any other authority to an FAA ATP and/or type rating. A recent training event does look good on an app as it shows you’re trainable. Time is money these days and no airline wants to waste money.
The cheaper option is to try a regional and the E3 route. Others here have done it and would have better advice about that.
