Someone holding a position of 'authority' claimed it was (twelve of) Fateh-110 ballistic missiles and suggested that civil aircraft overflying Erbil on the well-used airway would have been safe - because
"The ballistic missile used in the attack flies at a maximum altitude of 26,000ft (7,925m)."
That sounds like nonsense to me. If 26,000 ft - unlikely to be Fateh-110 - If Fateh-110, unlikely to be able to limit to 26,000 ft - even if they cared.
Anyone (without breaking opsec
) know any better please ?
