Was discussing with my wife as our flight taxied to the terminal at Suvarnabhumi, how when visiting Thailand we always seem to run into a snake (or snakes) somewhere in our travels..... hotel grounds, hotel room, parks, tourist spots, you name it.
"Like that one" she said, pointing to the 3M+ cobra crossing the water-filled drainage ditch.
Hadn't even got as as far as the terminal that time.
