I can't believe this thread is still going !
I can vividly remember the day I got my first flying job with Airnorth. A bit like the story above - I walked into the old Airnorth office clutching a CV, Cathy behind the desk, and JLH around the corner in his office.
The usual cool exchange of oh-not-another-one small talk etc, when IBJ suddenly appears and asks me if I have a pen (embarrassingly, I didn't).
" Ha ! - whoever heard of a pilot without a pen!? " says he.
Figuring it was Game Over already, I replied "I had to pawn it for food !"
Next thing I know I was given instructions to report to Geoff Browne in Katherine.
Frieght boy on probation !
