If you are working towards a FAA commercial certificate the cross country flights must have a landing 50 miles from the departure airport. For an ATP you only have to go 50 miles, you don’t have to land. It’s in FAR 61.1(b). I’m not sure what a FNPT 2 translates into in FAA speak but the controlling factor is going to be the FAA requires the training to be given by an “authorized instructor.” The FAA defines an authorized instructor as someone who holds a FAA instructor certificate. So while some of your in aircraft training with a foreign instructor can count towards FAA requirements the simulator time has to be with a FAA instructor. That’s in 61.129 for the commercial and 61.159 for an ATP.
