I recall one young hopeful front up to the old Air North office next to the Aero Club on the airport Southern Side. Like the rest of us when looking for a job, he came with resume in-hand and was putting his best foot forward. The room was full of pilots, Dave Cooper & Cathy U were manning the Daily Ops Sheets, and JLH would have been within earshot from his adjacent office.
All eyes were on the newby, and the room fell silent when he asked,
”Is the Chief Pilot ‘round?” to which one wag replied, yes, quite.
”Well can I see him please?”
No, said the wag, he’s not here.
They were great times, thanks for the memories, one and all.
