I'm sure they probably crossed paths. Dad did the Sudan thing for many years flying out of the UK with 2 or 3 ships. Many years ago their was a documentary on the pilots flying in the Sudan, Dad was supposed to be one of the pilots in the show but unfortunately he passed away when they started filming in the 80's. Their was a thread in "Where are they now" and although it was initially about a lady looking for a grave site in the Sudan I learned a great deal about my Dad their from many who knew him and answered questions I had. You may recognize a few names if you can pull it up. ( will try and find it after I have posted this.
As for his log books it is looking like they will all go to the RAF Museum.
I just noticed you have seen the post on Martin Coates in the other forum so a lot of leads may be found there if you post a question.
