Being eligible for an upgrade does NOT make you pass the evaluation, course and test automatically. Seniority is there to have a transparent system for everyone to know who else's turn it will be next. I am happy that my employer is applying seniority for these career moves and I wouldn't want it any way else.
Did NJE follow the seniority list when they laid off pilots recently? - about a year or two ago or so. The seniority list is only worth something (ANYTHING) if the employer actually uses it - NJE didnīt in recent times - or perhaps my memory fails me..
