yes but his friend watching it back in slow motion said something along the lines of that wasn't it, will watch again tonight, he said the nozzle shifted and the initial launch was off centre, he believed he may have hit his head on the side of the cockpit and knocked himself unconscious thus rendering him unable to deploy the recovery chute. I thought the same as you, he lost the recovery chute at launch.
