Customs for the channel islands?
Quick question: do I need to notify customs (or immigration) of a flight to/from the Channel Islands? I would be departing from a non-customs airfield.
I've searched high and low but can't quite find the answer I'm looking for. I gather that:
- I need to notify special branch, for both directions, 24 hours in advance
- I need to file a flight plan
- If I were flying to France instead, I would need to notify customs 4 hours prior to my arrival back in the UK (being at a non-customs airfield)
- If I were flying to a non-EU country, I would need to notify customs and immigration for both directions (being at a non-customs airfield)
... but do customs/immigration need to know about flights to/from the channel islands? As they're not in the EU, it would seem that they do, but on the other hand, nothing I've read says so explicitly.
