DH Dragon G-ACAN is named 'Maylands' by Amy Johnson - note Jim Mollison also. This was the prototype aeroplane. Incidentally Amy Johnson worked for Hillman's Airways from Stapleford during August and September 1934. Photo credit nwamuseum.



The Gordon Dove Monoplane was manufactured at Maylands where it was photographed. Note the undulating nature of the aerodrome. This particular aeroplane was destroyed in a hangar fire at Maylands in 1940.
