Yeah it’s funny how prospective pilots look at the pay scale and it looks really good on paper, they’ll crunch a few numbers, maybe look up schools and apartments that fit the allowance CX offers without going into too much detail then apply.
CX plays on the fact outsiders don’t know the real cost of living in HK, suck them in with a bond and they got manning levels guaranteed for three years.
For locals, it’s awesome as vocational work for 5 years, but they know it’s not going to put them ahead in HK so they’ll quit and pursue jobs that will actually get them ahead in life.
This is CX modelling, they figured it’s cheaper to train someone every 3-5 years than to pay people a decent wage that they’ll stay, it looks good to shareholders.
