Hello guys, I have a doubt about the fuel system on A320 equipped with Jet pumps. On the A320 pilot guide, it says:
New A320s are equipped with jet pumps and transfer valves. Inner wing tank pumps provide fuel pressure inside the center tank past a center tank transfer valve. Fuel then enters the inlet side of the jet pump past the jet nozzle. The flow of fuel creates a suction pressure inside the jet pump which removes fuel from the center tank and moved it to the related wing tank.
Please correct me if I’m wrong: My understanding is that without fuel inner wing tank pumps running then we the jet pumps are useless. Right?
So in the case of loss of both pumps on the same inner tank, the fuel from the center tank will not transfer via the jet pump on the affected side and we can only use fuel from center tank via Gravity (2T Unusable by gravity).
I’m surprised the ECAM page for Fuel L (R) TK PUMP 1+ 2 LO PR does not mention anything about fuel feeding from the center tank.
