From SFI to TRI(restricted), i.e. sim only, you just need to meet the aircraft recency requirements - 30 sectors as PIC on type in the last 12 months. And then send all the paperwork and a cheque to the relevant NAA, of course.
If you want aircraft privileges then you need to do the course that normally consists of a couple of sim sessions with you instructing from a pilot's seat rather than the IOS, one training flight in the aircraft then an Assessment of Competence on the aircraft. Fairly straightforward in principle but the realities of cost and just getting hold of an aircraft for the training/AoC make it pretty difficult.
