No, it really doesn't. Now you're just showing that you've never worked in a research field. It might make you feel smarter or more in control, thinking that all the scientists are just sheep following a party line so they don't lose their jobs while you know the only truth is coming from the YouTube videos you've found, but that is just a way to feel better in uncertain times. Calling out dangerous misinformation isn't a high profile cancellation, even if people might like to claim that as a way to defend themselves when they are called out for spreading lies.
But the second part of your paragraph is correct, in that a lot of high profile noisy people, loud and proud anti-vaxxers, have spent a couple of quiet weeks on a ventilator lately before gaining a more permanent silence. Turns out the virus didn't care about their political views or facebook memes, it cancelled them anyway. Now *that* is cancel culture....
