Whether or not it'll ever actually come to that, who knows? People as early as a few weeks ago said the LCC market would never allow E3s, and yet here we are.
You'd think it might be that easy but not a hope of it. The reason…ALPA. The noise that would come from the rank and file, over hiring foreigners that don’t have PRC’s would be deafening and far too loud to ignore. It’ll never happen. UAL will hire 300 hour wonders and put them through their flight school before they’ll ever do that. The precedent is already there.
