Wages at the airport were suppressed for years due to an unlimited supply of cheap labour although not all applicants had a checkable work history so could not get jobs in sensitive areas. Many companies got contracts by putting in the lowest bid so will find it hard to raise wages.
Oh if anyone wants a taxi from the airport there isn’t any. The taxi company that pays a fee to the airport wants a new deal but the airport is holding out so the company hasn’t reinstated the taxi service that was suspended when Luton had low passenger numbers.
