Apparently there is some kind of virus going around, so there are no jobs in Europe. If you haven't got a job already lined up, there is no point doing what you're doing. If you have, then they should take you with a validation - especially if you've already passed the exams. As for type ratings, >500 is test only, any less requires a full course.

If you're worried that your EASA exams expire after 36 months, maybe consider a CPL/IR? That would buy you another 7 years. Both can be done in a single so you're only talking $3000.
