Funny! I flew on a BMI example that was on it's second revenue flight between LBA and LHR, the smell of new aircraft was joyously overpowering. I liked them as an aircraft and in the 90's they seemed to be everywhere within Europe and it was a regular occurrence to find one at the gate for your flight.
