In any case, it's obvious now that cropping of photos is being done to remove identifying detail, rather than making it more challenging. It doesn't take much effort to blank the detail out after all, QED.
does it really matter as long as its a good challenge? Either crop it or paint it, or do both (as I did, still got identified in a few hours).
