The latest programme of investment has largely been triggered by the airport's well-publicised wish to reintroduce scheduled passenger services and follows on from today's announcement of the airport's new alliance with partner Thomsonfly.com which is launching passenger services in the Spring of 2004 to 11 destinations throughout Europe.
