On occaisions, we have been sent to the gate early and then corralled (with no seating of course) with folks crowded around the steps down to the ground. Have stood there for 20 minutes. I suspect this is done by carriers to ensure a timely departure. It is another reason to avoid LTN. I use LTN as it is close to where I live and has good conenctions but it is no longer enjoyable.
