On Tuedat afternoon I was visiting the lovely Stourhead gardens near Mere in Dorset . Amidst the scenery there was the distinctive sound of a military piston , a radial I thought. A few minutes later the sound of same aircraft indulging in some nice aeros, loops and wingovers perhaps over Boscombe Down which is east of where I was and I could see the aircraft which seemed to eb quite light coloured being put through its paces. This was about 1515-1530 tuesday. Any one have any idea what it was , distance was such that all I could tell was single engined and wings didnt look like a spitfire -and I can usually tell a Merlin anyway. Any ideas??
