Mcp 777 alt knob
Need some clarification about 777.At climb you press alt knob on mcp panel with vnav speed to remove alt restriction when higher given like cleared unrestricted and the Sid altitude constraint is below and so it removes from fmc.However in descend with alt restriction like part of star 11000A in fmc whereas atc clears to 10000 ,so will setting lower alt 10000 on mcp and pressing it clear it on fmc again and and if not will we take flevel change or if on same star but now given heading and aircraft in vnav mode what rate of descend does 777 follow on off path route if flight level change not taken but being parallel or even far off about 10-12 miles off route but still in vnav mode .
