When is a noise a legal nuisance?
For a noise to be a legal nuisance it must be unreasonable and interfere with the use and enjoyment of your home. Several factors determine whether a noise is nuisance including:
- the time of day the noise occurs
- how loud it is
- how long it lasts
- how often it occurs
- your location
Yes the council will take action unless the noise involves aircraft flying in and out of its own airport then they will do nothing and won’t investigate.. Double standards? In fact they are promoting more noise.
Might explain why some people put in repeat complaints because they are ignored. In fact the Council wants to nearly double the amount of noise events.
