TWU and FAAA unions didn't endorse either deal, instead agreed in principle, which is very different and was made clear. Crew wanted transparency on the next move, and fair work provided much needed proof when it didn't go down well coming from the company. In this case, there was a fine line between transparency and threat. But yes, a more reasonable deal was reached for both sides with the second deal.
