In 2019, I flew with Wizz from Kyiv to Luton on Wizzair. I was not the only Brit on the aircraft - the people sitting next to me were telling me how they usually go to Florida every other year.
You can live well in Ukraine on quite a modest amount of cash. It's a big city with a long history and a lot of cultural interest. Many a Brit will happily go there for a long weekend if they think they are getting a bargain.
