I agree. It'll be interesting at a minimum. I'm just one of the blind men groping the elephant but when the economy recovers and legacy hiring resumes, taking pilots from the regionals, will there be more regional-eligible pilots available in the US than there were pre-COVID ? I don't know but my guess is there won't be and there weren't enough pre-COVID, IIRC.

I don't want to derail this thread more than necessary since the situation of Aussies at US regionals is more interesting than the legacy stuff, but...to Kenny's point about recent training events being viewed as a positive for getting an interview, I've certainly seen that mentioned on the seemingly endless list of things said to be a positive in the eyes of the legacy HR people.
