To answer the OP's question, I disagree.

The comment reeks of someone just big-noting themselves in the comfort of knowing they won't have to actually prove themselves - typical of your first class Microsoft flight simmer methinks.

Sully didn't want the media attention, but he got it nonetheless because news is business and the story made lots of money for them. The media turned Sully into a sky-god, but if the outcome were different they could have easily turned him into the most hated man in America - business is business - and Sully had no control whatsoever of this aspect.

FWIW, I accidentally turned into the path of a large oncoming flock of large birds a few days ago in hazy conditions, almost sh!t myself, they were darting all over the place in a giant avian orb and fortunately I was mostly over the centre and to the right of them. Flight Aware captures a 50ft spike in altitude as I hopped over them. I don't plan on writing a book about the experience.
