Fixed with the help of a suggestion after I posted on the Microsoft Users Community
You go into Outlook - select File then Account Settings
Use Manage Profiles which gives you Mail Setup dialog - choose email accounts
Select the profile you want to send company mail from and select change above
Fill in the details - Incoming is your company server ,Logon is your company password
Outgoing is your BT server (mail.btinternet.com) ,
Select More Settings then Outgoing settings
Select my outgoing server requires authentication
Fill in login using your BT account details
Select advanced - incoming port 110 no encryption
Outgoing port 587 no encryption
It then logs in and sends a test email
