The A320 has a more spacious cockpit which can accommodate two jump seats and has tables for the pilots. Airbus simply needs to make the pilots seats a bit more comfortable and it’s perfectly suitable for longer flights.

The initial design of the 737 was started in 1964. It was designed for short routes of 1000 miles. Over the years, the range has grown, but the flight deck never did. When I went from the 737 to the 777, I was amazed at how much the large cockpit made a difference.
