After each crisis O’Leary is usually the first to move & take advantage, 9/11, buy new planes, MAX crash, bag a discount, COVID, buy more MAX planes & dance on Norwegians grave, and while at it, get some self funded zero risk new cheap pilots. Its why Ryanair have been so successful.
Time will tell what happens, Ryanair have made the first move, if some other airlines open up cadet recruitment expect Ryanairs offer might change somewhat, lot I think depends on Norwegian, if that survives great, if it fails, well, you know what will happen
Just trying to make sense of this mess, halfway through training wondering if I should take a Ryanair Mentored Gateway CPL, a generic CPL or ditch the dream & do something else. Not a decision I need to make though for a few months & theory doesn't cost much.
