Very sorry indeed to hear the news. The OMF Symphony is a fine aeroplane and all the drawbacks with the GlasStar have been addressed including going to electrically actuated flaps. Hope the company can obtain a refinancing deal but fear the effects of reunification in Germany are eroding the benfits of "ossie" cheap labour costs. We shall see.
I test flew a GlasStar tri-gear a few years back for initial PFA permit issue and thoroughly enjoyed it as a fine touring aircraft. Tom Wathen who bought up Stoddart Hamilton in the USA and has put the GlasAir and GlasStar back into the kit plane market place is to be congratulated.
