Follow up ADI question:
This ADI also has turn rate indication (standard rate, half rate "dog house" vertical bars with a moving "underline" indicator). I can't figure out how the mechanism works, assuming it initially to be directly connected to the roll axis (i.e. just marks on a ring). However, it looks like that if you roll beyond the range of indication, the indicator bar returns to the centre, presumably moving back to full deflection if you roll back a bit, although it does also seem to operate again if you're inverted (I can't imagine why you'd want to do a standard rate turn inverted but why not I suppose). Please can someone give me a clue as to what I'm missing about how this bit works rather than how to use it?
TIA.
