I know what it cost to forget the hand towbar on a Piper 28, or having a prop striking a stone when landing in terrain and not ensuring enough air in the nose oleo.....

It was expensive as hell in both cases, in the first one we cracked the crank shaft casing and had to decide between repair and a brand new engine (the old was the original), we did go with the old in the end because old engines are usually good when they've run 25+ years without problems (mechanic said). Second case we were a bit more lucky, no problems with the engine. Both cases cost us the propeller though.
