The question was answered on the second post, and misunderstood on the third post (the database would need to hold ALL waypoints, not just the ones on your flight plan).

Just because we're in this century doesn't mean that all of the aircraft flying today are. No doubt things will change eventually but not just yet.
Most 5 letter waypoint names are already repeated multiple times all over the world which could lead to errors. Lat and long can't be.
Sops should be robust enough to check waypoints accurately - there aren't many of them and you've got plenty of time.
