Typical Earnings for a Helicopter Pilot
Hi,
After a fairly long stint in the corporate world, I have decided to pursue my long held ambition of a career up in the air. I've had some fixed wing PPL experience and to a lesser degree rotary, both of which I enjoy as much as each other. Anyhow, the question I'd be really grateful for the forum's advice on is around what typically you'd expect to make at present for:
- Fetch & Carry/tour work initially
- FI
- Helimed
- Other roles
Whilst I'd love to work in Helimed (I'm currently doing some temporary work in the NHS and would love to combine a passion with giving back in some way) I have been told the salaries for a pilot are around £30k/£40k and so I'm concerned if I go down this route I'll not see a return on my investment. If this is correct, then is there flexibility in these roles to do FI or other ad-hoc roles that would supplement income?
Many thanks in advance!
