I was at Farnborough that day and saw the “flat” display Trubshaw put on - worthy of a fighter.
Apparently, it had been suggested that he should cancel because of the low cloudbase but he was determined to put on a show for the people who had paid for it.
it was announced later that he had diverted to Heathrow due to the weather, but I wonder if he was just taking advantage of the situation. After all, for a real Wx diversion, he could have landed at Farnborough.
