I would hope things have changed in view of a very critical audit of Airport Coordination Australia a few years ago made by the Australian National Audit Office. The report is easy to find via Google. The slot allocation process is esoteric and 'interesting'. Airport Coordination was set up to allocate slot at certain Australian airports but they also manage slot allocation for the Philippines, Abu Dhabi and Ireland. How they acquired the Irish business I don’t know as their airports used to be managed by the UK slot coordinator - ACL. Perhaps the Australian mob out-priced the Brits! One could reasonably ask why an ACA should seek off-shore work? Unions and 'closed shops' have much to learn!
