BA have been savvy enough to price themselves cheaper than EK most of the time and sometimes markedly so. I flew with them to DXB prior to the quarantine period being lifted and even then the flight was busy. I heard a few other pax chat amongst themselves and comment on how much more expensive EK was.
It goes to show that COVID-19 travel insurance and free stays at the Marriott Marquis from EK are nothing more than good sound bites. Price at the moment really is king.
