The paper, which was prepared for the UK Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, highlighted the role of travel in “reigniting outbreaks of the virus after it has been suppressed”.
My main point was Nicola Sturgeon must have a crystal ball if she knows that travel will still be a problem in the summer of 2021.
Again, it's because she doesn't have a crystal ball that if you read what she is actually saying...
Speaking at her media briefing today, the First Minister urged Scots to be cautious when it came to booking trips abroad. "Even if we have managed to get a degree of normality back in Scotland by next summer, we don't know if that will be the case in all other parts of the world," she said. "So it may still be the case we would advise against travel. We would not want people to bring the virus back into Scotland. The future feels a bit brighter than it has done in a long time. But the near future is quite uncertain, and therefore I wouldn't be giving people advice to book holidays for next summer quite at this point."
