Thanks for info. I had a good laugh about you CAI episode. I also
had a problem there, but at passport control with a group of U.S.
"Special Tourists". We were flying CAI/AMM and the CAI Hotel had
not submitted the passport details for an exit visa The chief of Police
wanted several hundred dollars as a fine, I refused to pay, so denied
boarding. I asked for the phone number of the U.S. Ambassador, and
was told "He's not there, He's on the golf course" at 21.30 and dark,
he must have been an extremely good golfer. We finally got to the
gate on closing, after our agent, who was part of the Sadat family,
paid the money. AMM was a different story, then on to TLV.
