I know that this will break many people's illusions, but... When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

In the ME, locals are the only ones who stand any chance of walking into a wide-body job straight out of flight school. It's the same with the EK cadet programme. It's open to UAE nationals only and a foreign pilot does not represent any interest to anyone there until AT LEAST 2,000 hours of jet time (that's the bare minimum required to apply, in reality you would ideally have double or triple that number to be competitive).

So, unless you come from a couple of specific locations in the world, forget right away about your first flying job being on a Dreamliner or anything like that. It simply doesn't work that way. You will need a couple of years of narrow-body experience to be considered for any such role. Don't believe anyone who tries to sell you a "unique route" straight into any of those jobs. Sales people are very good at playing with people's dreams and telling people what they want to hear - but this often ends up in tears for said people.
