I've just 'listened' to the minute's silence on the radio at 11.00.
Except it is not silence, more like white noise. I think I would prefer real silence in which to contemplate and remember.
You could always switch off your radio?
11:00 radio rather makes it clear that the nation has fallen silent for 2 minutes.
