Why don't you just bite the bullet and do it at a reputable TAFE while you might have a bit of time to spare ? It is not a heavy course, although you can certainly make it a little so by virtue of how much net research you choose to do along the way.

The problem is that it now takes quite a few months - get it done and it's one thing out of the way which then isn't going to stand in your way at some time when you need it right now ... That was my attitude when I did it as I was looking forward to getting back into pilot theory training work.

My attitude is do it at a TAFE to make the role play components that much easier to get done.
