Without wishing to sound pedantic, but in recognition of their contribution, the Band appears to be a composite of Coldstreams (Red plume), Irish (Blue plume) and Scots (no plume).
The Pipers and Drummers are Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Scotlands Tankies), currently based at Leuchars in Fife.
.... whose current CO rather fittingly is, I believe, the son-in-law of a retired FJ Air Marshal.
I was also interested to see that the greatcoats worn by both The Prince of Wales and the "nameless" CAS appeared to have gold-braided shoulder straps, and wonder when that came in and for what ranks, in preference to the more ceremonial style worn by officers of Flag and General rank.
And of course I agree in principle with Chugalug, although I also feel that all those who took part in the current circumstances deserve a big Bravo Zulu..
