Fine. I’ll humbly agree if this measure saves a single person from redundancy. But if that’s the reason, when demand soars one day and there is a huge recruitment drive at the airport - which we all want - then it would be nice to believe that charge will be reduced. We will see.
To be fair my opinion is jaundiced by my age. It only seems like yesterday when you were able to pull up outside the shiny new terminal, help your passengers inside and find the check in desk. Farewell hugs all round then pick up a paper and a Mars bar at WH Smith’s before jumping back in the car with an apologetic wave to the security guard before heading home on a deserted motorway.
And if you’re wondering, that’s no sentimental BS - that is exactly as it was.
I agree that’s what it was. But times have changed dramatically since then. It’s not really only Stansted that’s changed all the major UK airports have.
