I wouldn’t be so sure, sounds like a repeat of the popular ‘German car manufacturers’ claim which now push has come to shove has fallen flat. Some areas would be only too pleased to see the back of lower-end mass tourism from the UK and more generally there are other markets which can fill the gap. Take the Balearics as an example of this, go there in the early 90s and it would be Brits, Germans, pockets of Scandinavians and a smattering of Swiss, Austrians, Italians. By the end of the 90s the Russians and other Central/Eastern Europeans had arrived. Now there are plenty of Americans in Ibiza, departure boards busy with flights from all over Europe. Times change but Brexit is sending the UK backwards.
